Springing Out of Hibernation

Somehow, oddly, winter hasn't seemed too terribly long or oppressive this year (yet!!). One would think it would have been horrible in a small house with a teething baby who is rapidly becoming a confident toddler who wants to explore all things. Somehow, though, we seemed to occupy ourselves with the "rockin' puppy" and other Christmas toys, the occasional sled ride (we wore a track in the snow in the backyard), a trip to the Frozen Fingers Bluegrass Festival for a weekend in February, trips to the lake, a birthday bash, more new toys, and visits from friends and family. It has been an overall very pleasant winter. It helps that I have the freedom to spend each and every day with my sweetest little darling Mouse!

That said, Miss Mouse and I are both nursing a serious case of spring fever! With Easter just around the corner, we are ready to break out of the house and be free! Today was a significant turning point - the first long stroller rides of the season! This morning we strolled to the bank and were likely the only customers to drive a stroller through the car drive-up window. This afternoon, Regan and Miss Mouse's heart-throb (one of them!) joined us for a ride to the park. The kiddies seemed to enjoy their early-spring stroller and swing rides. This was the first swing ride for both of them; they seemed to be communicating their feelings about the experience to eachother by exchanging glances. It was difficult to get them to take their eyes off eachother!

Let's hope this is the first of many stroller rides and park visits to come (very soon!) this season. Goodbye, Winter! Goodbye, Lent! Welcome, Spring! Welcome, Easter!
