This past weekend was spent celebrating Miss Mouse's second birthday. It's hard to believe it was time to celebrate a second already, but we had an absolute blast - all of us! Great Grandma N. and Grammy arrived on the train on Friday morning (3 a.m.), and Auntie Laura and Auntie Steph arrived late Friday evening. Miss Mouse repeatedly told me that Grandpa Bob couldn't come to her birthday party because he was on the farm, feeding the cows.....this is only odd because Miss Mouse has never seen cows at my parents' place, only sheep! Saturday morning, Grandma and Grandpa Dick visited in the pre-nap hours. After her nap, Miss Mouse got dressed in her special, velvety-red dress, had her bangs curled, and prepared to party. Guests began arriving around 3:50, and from then on, it there was complete festivity at the Toomey Household. I haven't counted yet how many party guests there were, but I think around 30 is a safe number to estimate. It was great fun for her Daddy and I to visit with friends we don't have a chance to see often as well as those who we do! Miss Mouse hammed it up for everyone, opening gifts, blowing out her own birthday candles (okay, she blew out the first one herself and then got the second one with a little help from Grammy), and grinning from ear-to-ear when everyone sang Happy Birthday. She's been talking nonstop the past couple days about "blow candles", so apparently that was one of the highlights of the day. It was an all-around wonderful day and could hardly have been more perfect!

A new favorite pair of sunglasses....yes, they're upside down - on purpose.
No birthday cake this year - we went with cupcakes.
